10 of our members provided an Honour Guard in the Folk Park in Riverstown on Wed 13th April for the Unveiling of a Memorial to those who fought and lost their lives in the Great War, The 1916 Rising, The War of Independence and The Civil War. After the Unveiling a wreath was laid and the Last Post was played. During that period those in Uniform stood at attention , motionless, shoulder to shoulder, remembering those who fought and died for what they believed in, some on foreign fields in a time long past. The MC for the Unveiling, Hugh Kelly thanked our Association for its participation in the event and it must be said we were very well received by the local community.
Our Association provided a Colour Party and led the St Patrick's Day Parade in Riverstown. It was a very enjoyable day with the good weather being a bonus.
