Welcome to the 19 Infantry Battalion F.C.A. Association. Our Association was inaugurated on 11th June 2008 and officially launched by Lt. Gen. Jim Shreenan ( Retired ) on Sunday 27th September 2009 in Boyle. The Association consists of F.C.A. & P.D.F. members of the former 19 Infantry Battalion. The aim of the Association is for members of the former Battalion to keep in contact with each other.
A full bus left the Crescent, Boyle for our annual 2018 tour. We visited the National Museum in Collin's Barracks. On the way up we visited Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. After the museum visit, we headed for Dail and Seanad Eireann. Minister Denis Naughten was unable to meet us as arranged and sent his apologies. A group picture with Deputy Eamon Scanlon was taken outside the Dail by Mary Regan. We met Deputy Marc McSharry on the way back to the bus. Then down to Ferrick's for our evening meal which was excellent. This was a great outing and it was lovely to meet up with old friends. Many thanks to Francie the main organiser and his team.
The 2018 National Day of Commemoration at City Hall in Sligo was well attended by our members. There was a very nice ceremony and the good weather added to the occasion.
The President, Chairman and Committee wish all members of the Association and all those who served with the 19th Infantry Battalion together with their families a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with peace and happiness.
The AGM (at 7pm) and ANNUAL SOCIAL (at 8pm) will be held in the Bush Hotel Carrick-on-Shannon on Friday 26th January 2018. Tickets €20.
Members are reminded that membership fees fall due on 1st January 2018. It would be great if they were paid before the AGM. The Association is grateful to all members for their continued support in this matter
